Operation Smile: Cairo, Egypt

Saving teeth, one smile at a time!!

Operation smile Cairo, Egypt in 2023 mission had the collaboration of dentists from the US ( Dr Ta was the only one chosen), Morocco, Italy and Egypt treating over 400 children in 3 days, from 8 am to 7 pm daily. These Egyptian children were lacking dental care and many had rampant decay, requiring full mouth rehabilitation in one visit. Operation smile Cairo, Egypt also had all volunteers/dentists from various dental backgrounds and countries, giving lectures to improve Egypt dental education. Dr Ta gave a lecture on how to manage and treat children with cleft lips and palates starting from birth. The mission raised awareness to dental care in Egypt to the world, and at the same time strengthened the friendship between all the countries involved.
