All-on-4 Implants

What are All-on-4 dental implants?
All-on-4 implants are a permanent set of fabricated teeth set on dental implants surgically placed into your jaw. They look, feel, and function like natural teeth.

All-on-4 dental implants:

  • Are permanent teeth that can be brushed and cleaned like natural teeth
  • Do not have to be taken out
  • Do not need adhesives
  • Are comfortable because they do not press down on your gums
  • Allow you to experience the hot and cold of your food, as well as the taste
  • Allow you to bite with increased force (up to 70% more), so you can eat all of your favorite foods again
  • Prevent bone deterioration
  • Restore your facial features
  • Speak with confidence
  • Improve your quality of life

The All on 4 dental implant process starts with a consultation, where Dr.  Ta and her staff will conduct a full dental examination, gather important information, and help answer any questions you have about the treatment plan. The consultation process involves going over your dental and medical history, performing a 3D CAT Scan for a detailed look into the existing state of your teeth, gums and jaw structure, and going over any fees and insurance coverages involved with the procedure.

After the initial consultation, you are scheduled for a surgery date, when your dental implants are implanted and your temporary prosthetics are placed right in the comfort of our office.  Certified lab technicians will then custom design your final prosthetic replacement teeth that look, feel and function just like your own natural teeth. After your dental implants are completely healed, your permanent set of teeth are fixed into place.

How are All-on-4 Dental Implants different from dentures?
All-on-4 dental implants differ from dentures because they are a permanent solution for missing or severely damaged teeth. They are secured directly into your own jaw, so they look, feel and function just like natural teeth.

How do All-on-4 dental implants compare to traditional implants?
The All-on-4 dental implant technique uses only four implants per arch, whereas traditional implants utilize anywhere from six to eight implants or more in each arch. The implants of the All-on-4 procedure are also placed at an angle, which allows for increased contact by using the natural support of your bone. In addition, the All-on-4 procedure requires no bone grafting for most patients, which is common in traditional implant procedures. Therefore, All-on-4 dental implants save both time and money.

What is the success rate with All-on-4 Dental Implants?
Published studies show a 98% success rate using All-on-4 dental implants.

Who is the ideal candidate for All-on-4 Dental Implants?
The ideal candidate for the All-on-4 dental implant procedure at Dental Associates is someone who is missing most or all of their teeth, or is currently wearing dentures. Age is not a limiting factor for All-on-4 dental implants as long the candidate is in good health.

Will my results look natural?
Absolutely. The All-on-4 dental implant technique gives you permanent teeth that look, feel and function just like real teeth. No one will know you have implants unless you tell them.

Why don’t I get my permanent set of teeth the day my implants are placed?
As with any surgery, you need time to heal. However, you will not leave our office without teeth! A temporary set of teeth will be placed on your implants. Once the healing process is complete, your permanent teeth will be placed at a follow up visit approximately six months after surgery.

What if I just need implants on my bottom arch? What if I someday need All-on-4 dental implants on both arches?
All-on-4 implants can be placed on just the upper or lower arch. Our implant specialists will evaluate your circumstance and if we feel you might eventually need replacement teeth on both the upper and lower arches, we might suggest performing the procedure on both arches at the same time. This provides better results while also saving time and money. Your doctor will work with you to determine what best meets your health needs and financial situation.

What type of cleaning is required after an implant is placed?
Since dental implants should be treated like your natural teeth, daily brushing and flossing is recommended. Our team of specialists and dental hygienists will review oral hygiene instructions with you and recommend the most appropriate daily oral hygiene plan to fit your needs.

What are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are replacement tooth roots. Implants provide a strong foundation for fixed (permanent) or removable replacement teeth that are made to match your natural teeth.

How Successful Are Dental Implants?
Success rates of dental implants vary, depending on where in the jaw the implants are placed but, in general, dental implants have a success rate of up to 98%. With proper care (see below), implants can last a lifetime.

Advantages of Dental Implants

There are many advantages to dental implants, including:

  • Improved appearance: Dental implants look and feel like your own teeth. And because they are designed to fuse with bone, they become permanent.
  • Improved speech: With poor-fitting dentures, the teeth can slip within the mouth causing you to mumble or slur your words. Dental implants allow you to speak without the worry that teeth might slip.
  • Improved comfort: Because they become part of you, implants eliminate the discomfort of removable dentures.
  • Easier eating: Sliding dentures can make chewing difficult. Dental implants function like your own teeth, allowing you to eat your favorite foods with confidence and without pain.
  • Improved self-esteem: Dental implants can give you back your smile and help you feel better about yourself.
  • Improved oral health:  Dental implants don’t require reducing other teeth, as a tooth-supported bridge does. Because nearby teeth are not altered to support the implant, more of your own teeth are left intact, improving long-term oral health. Individual implants also allow easier access between teeth, improving oral hygiene.
  • Durability: Implants are very durable and will last many years. With good care, many implants last a lifetime.
  • Convenience: Removable dentures are just that; removable. Dental implants eliminate the embarrassing inconvenience of removing dentures, as well as the need for messy adhesives to keep them in place.

Key Terms for Dental Implants

Abutement

An abutment is a connector that your dentist will build into or attach to the top of your dental implant. This serves as the attachment for the replacement tooth, crown, or bridge, keeping it firmly in place.

Abutement Teeth

This term refers to the teeth that support a bridge or partial denture. The bridge is attached to the abutment tooth during a full crown prep or inlay/onlay preps. For a partial denture, clasps or rests are used to support the denture on the abutment tooth.

Ceramic

Ceramic is a material used to make dental implants. This material is made of clay and hardened by heat before it’s placed in your mouth. Some people prefer the aesthetic appeal of ceramic to titanium since it offers a more natural look. It’s available in ivory so it looks similar to existing teeth and roots. Some ceramic implants have conical threading at the base for easier attachment to the bone in your jaw. You might also get a ceramic implant if you have an allergy to metal.

Crown

A crown, also referred to as a cap, replaces a single tooth. If you have lost or broken a tooth due to infection, decay, injury, or other health problem, a dentist can fit your mouth with a crown to replace the missing or damaged tooth. Crowns typically fit over the top of existing teeth, although they must be ground down to fit, or attach to the abutment of a dental implant.

Implant

A dental implant, also called a fixture, is a medical device that interfaces with your jawbone to support a dental prosthesis, such as a bridge, crown, denture, or other facial prostheses. Through osseointegration, the implant will fuse securely to your bone, providing a strong and durable result that will last for years. Many dental implants last for patients’ entire lives, making them better options than bridges, which may require replacement, and dentures, which can be uncomfortable and difficult to wear.

Endosteal Implant

The endosteal implant is the most commonly used type of implant exercised in modern dentistry, according to the American Academy of Periodontology. In order to fit this style of implant, a dentist will place small screws, plates, blades, or cylinders directly into the jawbone through a surgical procedure. Each implant can hold at least one prosthetic tooth.

Titanium

Most modern dental implants are made of titanium. This metal comes with a number of advantages. Few people are allergic to titanium, so it’s rare for a patient to have a reaction to this material. It’s also lightweight but very strong, reducing the weight on your bone or within your mouth. It has a high oxygen affinity, which means that it will form a thin oxide layer when placed in the body. Titanium can also ossify with bone, producing a stronger result that can last for many years.

Zirconia

A small percentage of people do experience allergies to titanium, so zirconia is another option for the implant material. Zirconia implants have no prosthetic connections, so the risk of bacteria growth is lower. Patients may experience better gum health when they have this type of implant. It’s also white in color so it looks more like a natural tooth.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign uses a series of customized, clear aligners to straighten teeth faster and with fewer office visits than traditional braces. Thousands of orthodontists in the United States and Canada use Invisalign braces to accurately and effectively treat their patients. Invisalign aligners are:
  • Nearly invisible – Invisalign aligners cannot be readily seen while you are wearing them! Friends, family members and co-workers may never even know you are wearing braces, unless of course you tell them!
  • Comfortable to wear – The aligners are made from a special plastic that has smooth, rounded edges so they won’t irritate your mouth and tissues like traditional braces often can.
  • Customized just for you – Your Invisalign aligners are customized to fit your mouth. Dr. Mangiarelli uses advanced 3-D computer imaging technology to replicate an exact impression of your mouth and teeth, then she customizes each aligner so that it fits your mouth, and over time moves your teeth into the proper position.
  • Removable –Unlike traditional metal braces, you can remove your aligners to eat, drink, brush your teeth, floss and for special occasions. There’s no need to change your lifestyle with Invisalign!
  • Effective – You will begin to notice a significant difference even before your treatment is complete! Most treatments are completed within one year; however this can vary from patient to patient.

Why To Consider Invisalign

People everywhere are beginning to experience the benefits of Invisalign treatment. Here’s why people just like you are choosing Invisalign over traditional braces:
  • With Invisalign you can have a straighter, healthier smile without all the noticeable wires and brackets of traditional braces.
  • Invisalign aligners are removable making it easy for you to enjoy the foods you love without worrying about breaking or bending your brackets and wires. You can also remove your Invisalign aligners to brush and floss regularly.
  • You don’t need to change anything about your current lifestyle! With Invisalign you can continue participating in day-to-day activities without changing a thing. Invisalign is great for professionals, athletes, brides, and parents.
  • Office visits and checkups are easy, quick, and painless. Fewer appointments are required throughout your entire treatment.

How Does Invisalign Work?

When you begin your Invisalign treatment you will receive several sets of custom fit aligners. Each set of aligners is worn for only two weeks. After two weeks you can switch your aligners with the next set and continue straightening your teeth. Over time you will notice changes in the alignment of your teeth and in just a few months you will have a straighter, healthier smile!

What is Botox?

BOTOX® is used as an alternative treatment for TMJ (temporo-mandibular joint) disorders and associated jaw tension and pain. When injected into facial muscles afflicted with soreness and discomfort, BOTOX® relieves TMJ and jaw tension for many patients. The injections often eliminate headaches resulting from teeth grinding, and, in cases of severe stress, BOTOX® can even minimize lock-jaw. Although BOTOX® treatment for these conditions is presently experimental; evidence indicates that it can be extremely effective.

BOTOX and Dermal Fillers for Cosmetic Treatments

In addition to Medical applications we also perform cosmetic BOTOX and Dermal Filler treatments for slimming the face and fighting the aging process. Please contact our office for free Consultation 941-505-1200.

How BOTOX Cosmetic Works

A combination of factors can cause facial lines. It’s not just about the cellular changes that may occur, or reduction of collagen, or damage caused by free radicals from the sun and the environment. Repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, or raising eyebrows cause skin to furrow and fold, gradually resulting in the formation of facial lines. BOTOX® Cosmetic works beneath the surface and temporarily reduces the underlying muscle activity that causes moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines in adults – to help them look visibly smoother.

Dermal Filler Treatments

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or enhance facial contours. More than 1 million men and women annually have chosen this popular facial rejuvenation treatment, which can be a cost-effective way to look younger without surgery or downtime. While dermal fillers are casually known as “wrinkle fillers,” they can do much more than just smooth out wrinkles, although they are excellent at this too! Here are a few of the common issues dermal fillers can help address:
  • Smooth out lines around nose and mouth (a.k.a. marionette lines, smile lines, and parentheses)
  • Enhance & restore volume to sunken cheeks or temples
  • Diminish vertical lip lines
  • Plump & enhance the lips
  • Smooth out a chin crease
  • Improve symmetry among facial features

Why is PRP Important and Why Would Someone Need It?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a new approach to tissue regeneration and it is becoming a valuable tool to promote healing in many procedures in dental and oral surgery, especially in aging patients.

PRP is so exciting because it allows your body to utilize normal healing pathways at a much faster rate. Especially after surgery, the ability to speed up healing is incredibly valuable.  When the body is healing, it sends all types of cells and cell types to start the healing process. One of these cell types is the platelet. The platelet is vital because it performs many functions, such as:
  • Forming blood clots
  • Releasing GF (growth factors) directly into the area that needs healing
The Growth Factors help the body heal and repair by stimulating stem cells to regenerate new tissues. This means that the more growth factors that can get to the wounded area, the faster new tissue can be regenerated. PRP is the catalyst for releasing GF, the ability to get more PRP released is a critical step for ultimately speeding up healing.
Another reason we are so passionate about PRP is because it releases BMP. Bone Morphogenetic Protein. BMP is part of the TGF family and, according to research on both humans and animals, has been shown to help in bone formation. This is important because in oral surgery, we want to help induce bone formation to have you heal and get better faster. When we use PRP during oral surgery, it activates the release of BMP. When this BMP is released to the area in need of healing, where a patient had surgery, it goes to the implant site and lets the surgeon grow bone quicker and even more predictable than has ever been possible. In what scenarios would PRP be helpful? There are many clinical applications for getting PRP. It can be helpful to have PRP to help speed up healing after:
  • Bone grafting for dental implants
  • Repairing bone defects
  • Repairing fistulas (those between the mouth and the sinus cavity)
  • Cosmetic : PRP facial or ( often called the vampire facial )
We offer this service to our patients at Siesta Village Dentistry and we would be happy to schedule a free consultation.  At Siesta Village Dentistry we care about your oral health and healing and always put patients first.

Consisting of ultra-thin, wafer-like shells that are placed on the front surface of teeth, veneers are one of the best cosmetic dental treatments for quickly improving the look of a person's smile. Veneers are great for correcting problems with spacing, visibly damaged teeth, misaligned teeth, crooked teeth, discolorations and more.

Veneers are custom-built using special stain-resistant materials. These materials will help to ensure that they do not become discolored by tobacco products and dark-colored liquids like coffee, wine and juice. If veneers are cared for and maintained properly, they should remain intact for many years to come. Our practice offers options for both porcelain veneers and ceramic EMAX veneers.

The first step when applying veneers to teeth is to shave off a small amount of tooth enamel on any tooth that is set to receive treatment. This is done to ensure that the new veneers are able to fit properly. Next, we will thoroughly clean the teeth and apply an acidic etching solution to help the veneers bond properly. Finally, the veneers will be applied and secured with a dental adhesive. After the procedure, our experts will evaluate the patient's bite and make any last-second adjustments if needed.

If you want to achieve a beautiful, more pleasing smile, then veneers may be the answer for you. Please call us at (941) 505-1200 to schedule an appointment.

A tooth-colored filling is a dental treatment that is designed to restore teeth that have experienced mild damage or decay, often caused by a cavity. While most cavities can be dealt with quite easily, leaving them untreated can lead to serious consequences. Food particles and harmful bacteria can use cavities to access the interior of teeth and cause major damage. If this happens, a person may need to have a root canal procedure or have the tooth extracted. For this reason, we strongly recommend having cavities treated with tooth-colored fillings as quickly as possible. These fillings will seal-off cavities and prevent any voids from being further damaged by harmful materials.

Tooth-colored fillings are unique in that they are created to appear indistinguishable from natural teeth. This is because they utilize a specialized mixture known as a "composite" to give the treated tooth structure and stability. This composite mixture contains plastic resins and silica fillers, two materials that offer many similarities to natural teeth, making great for use as a filling substance. Once a tooth has been treated with a tooth-colored filling, it will have its appearance fully restored, and it will be able to be used in the same way as any other healthy tooth.

When providing a tooth-colored filling, we start by first removing any decay or existing filling material that is present inside the tooth. The interior of the tooth will then be thoroughly cleaned in order to eliminate any harmful bacteria that may be present. We will then apply the filling material directly to the tooth, sealing off any voids or openings. The filling material will be allowed to harden so that it obtains the strength and integrity of a natural tooth, and our experts will make sure that the filling is tightly fitted and fully seals off any voids. Finally, we will complete the process by shaping and polishing the hardened filling material to give it the natural appearance and functionality that you would expect out of a healthy tooth.

When a tooth is severely damaged or causing significant problems for other teeth, we may decide to remove it entirely. This process involves numbing the area and then carefully removing the tooth from the socket in a way that minimizes discomfort. From there, our team will quickly get to work with initiating the healing process in order to provide a quick and effective recovery. At Siesta Village Dentistry, we do everything we can to ensure that a tooth extraction is an easy and stress-free experience for the patient so that they can focus solely on improving their oral health.

Prior to removing a tooth, our experts will typically take digital X-rays of the structure so that we can determine the best way to safely pull the tooth. Next, a local anesthetic substance will be applied directly to the tooth and the areas that surround it in order to numb these locations and prevent the patient from experiencing pain. If necessary, we may also provide oral sedation or laughing gas to reduce patient anxiety. Most teeth extractions feature minimal pain and discomfort; however, many patients report feeling a sense of pressure at the extraction site as the tooth is being removed.

After the tooth has been removed, it is very important to immediately encourage healing. This is done by having the patient bite down on a piece of gauze for about 30 minutes. This will control the bleeding and help to form a blood clot at the extraction site. To prevent harming the blood clot, the patient will be instructed to avoid smoking, using a straw, spitting, consuming drugs or alcohol and participating in intense exercise for at least one day following the procedure. Swelling is a common occurrence following a tooth extraction. A patient can deal with this issue by using an ice pack on their outer cheek next to the extraction site.

In addition to standard teeth extractions, Siesta Village Dentistry also provides wisdom teeth removals. A person's wisdom teeth usually develop when they are in their late teens or easy twenties. Although a small number of people end up keeping their wisdom teeth, most people have these teeth removed due to the problems that they can cause for other teeth. Our experts recommend having wisdom teeth removed as early as possible in order to prevent the need for a more complicated oral surgery later.

If you ever require a tooth extraction, our team at Siesta Village Dentistry will help to ensure that your experience is as stress-free and as painless as possible. Please call us at (941) 505-1200 to schedule an appointment.

Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic therapy, is a specialized treatment method for restoring a tooth that has experienced an interior infection. The process consists of cleaning out the passages leading to the tooth's root and removing any harmful materials inside the tooth. Our root canal procedures utilize the latest and most advanced techniques possible in order to ensure maximum patient comfort.

Our experts will generally recommend root canal treatment when the interior pulp of a tooth becomes damaged by infection, decay or injury. Dental pulp is a substance that extends from just below the tooth's outer surface, all the way to the tooth's root in the jawbone. When a tooth experiences a fracture, it is possible that harmful oral bacteria will access the tooth's pulp and cause damage to the structure. If this happens, the tooth can rot from the inside out, causing the individual to experience significant pain. Some of the most common symptoms of an infected root canal include a severe toothache, swollen gums, and sensitivity to hot and cold foods and drinks.

During a root canal, advanced dental tools will be used to access the inside of the tooth and to remove any decayed material and infected pulp that is present. To thoroughly clean out the tooth, we will flush out the root canals all the way down to the root. Finally, a crown will be used on the tooth to protect it from future damage. The tooth will be able to be used as normal once the healing process is complete.

The dental care specialists at Siesta Village Dentistry will do everything possible to ensure that your root canal procedure features minimal discomfort and stress. After treatment, your tooth will have its health fully restored and look completely natural. Please call us at (941) 505-1200 to schedule an appointment.

In some cases, the best method for dental treatment may involve performing oral surgery. This process involves cutting into oral tissues so that important areas of the mouth can be accessed, and the necessary treatments can be applied. At Siesta Village Dentistry, we utilize the latest and most advanced methods available so that we can achieve the best possible results. We make patient comfort a top priority, and all of our experts are highly trained when performing these sensitive procedures. By choosing Siesta Village Dentistry for your oral surgery, you are sure to receive treatment that is as easy and as painless as possible so that you can focus on improving your oral health.

There are many reasons to receive oral surgery, such as:

  • Having teeth removed
  • Installation of dental implants
  • Periodontal procedures
  • Bone grafting treatments

When conducting oral surgery, our experts will typically provide one or more methods of dental sedation in order to reduce patient discomfort and anxiety. Our experts will heavily monitor the application of dental sedation so that the patient does not experience any unwanted side-effects from treatment. The methods of dental sedation that we offer include:

  • Oral Sedation: Provided prior to the procedure in the form of a pill to help the patient remain calm and relaxed and experience less pain.
  • Local Anesthetics: Applied directly to the site immediately before the procedure to numb the area.
  • Laughing Gas: An inhaled vapor that helps patients remain calm and relaxed while work is being done.

While the idea of receiving oral surgery can make many patients feel apprehensive, our caring team is committed to helping them get through the process. We do everything possible to help ensure that any oral surgery we provide is both safe and effective, all while keeping the patient comfortable and relaxed throughout the process.

One of the common procedures performed at Siesta Village Dentistry is Bone Grafting.

Bone Grafting

A deteriorated or decayed jawbone is a common oral health problem that is typically the result of untreated tooth loss or gum disease. The problem can cause severe pain and tooth loss, and it can make it difficult for dental implants to be installed. Fortunately, this type of issue can often be treated with a bone grafting procedure, a safe and effective method for restoring a jawbone that has deteriorated over time.

Our practice uses the most advanced techniques in bone grafting so that we can restore a damaged jawbone. We start by carefully accessing the deteriorated jawbone with precisely placed incisions. Next, artificial bone material and specialized proteins will be placed directly upon the damaged structure so that the healing process can initiate. Finally, the incisions will be closed, and the treated area will be sterilized.

In the coming months, the jawbone should begin to regenerate, and new bone growth will help to shape it into its previous structure. Eventually, the graft material will be absorbed by the body, and natural bone material will occupy the space. Once the jawbone has healed, the patient will be able to have dental implants installed if necessary.

Siesta Village Dentistry is a leading center for oral surgery in Siesta Key. By choosing us for your oral surgery, you are sure to receive top-quality treatment and care. Two highly effective teeth restoration methods, inlays and onlays are used to repair teeth with moderate damage or decay. They are both more involved than dental fillings, but not quite as extensive as full dental crowns. An inlay or onlay will provide a substantial repair to an injured tooth, but it will still keep most of its original structure and integrity intact.

Some of the major benefits of inlays and onlays include:

  • Helping teeth remain intact for many years
  • Increasing the overall strength of teeth
  • Preventing the need for more extensive treatments

An inlay will repair and cover the chewing surface of a tooth without covering any of the cusps or points. An onlay will cover one or more of these points, and it may be placed over the tooth's entire chewing surface depending on the extent of the damage being repaired. Both inlays and onlays will remain securely in place using a strong dental adhesive, and both will leave teeth with a natural appearance and great functionality. Our experts will examine your damaged tooth and determine whether an inlay or an onlay is the best method for treatment.

At Siesta Village Dentistry, our inlays and onlays are custom-built using impressions of the patient's teeth. These impressions are taken using advanced scanning technology, and they allow us to create the restorations possible. Since our practice also owns a dental laboratory, we can create our inlays and onlays with a quick turnaround and at a very affordable price. Best of all, a customized inlay or onlay will ensure an excellent fit and leave you with an outstanding restoration.

An inlay or onlay can be a superb way to restore a damaged tooth. For more information, please call us at(941) 505-1200 to schedule an appointment

When teeth are lost, it is very important to receive a suitable replacement as soon as possible. Not only is this necessary for maintaining a proper smile, failing to replace lost teeth can lead to severe consequences. When tooth loss is left untreated, it can cause other teeth to shift positioning, and the jawbone may begin to deteriorate over time. Additionally, a person may suffer from facial structure loss and bite imbalances. Dentures represent one viable option for replacing missing teeth.

Dentures consist of prosthetic teeth that are supported by a gum-colored base, and they provide both the function and appearance of healthy teeth. Patients who use dentures find that they are quite helpful for chewing food and speaking. Dentures also boost confidence, and they allow a person who has lost multiple teeth to proudly show off their smile to others. Although dentures can take some getting used to, most people who use them find that they are comfortable to wear and that they are an excellent method for replacing teeth that have been lost.

At Krause Dental, we pride ourselves on providing patients with natural-looking dentures that function like original teeth. We offer options for both fixed dentures and traditional dentures. Our experts are happy to sit down with your and discuss which denture option is best for your individual needs.

Fixed Dentures

Fixed dentures remain permanently secured inside a person's mouth using titanium dental implants that are surgically inserted into their jawbone. Once a fixed denture has been applied, it can never be removed except through oral surgery. This method of tooth replacement offers great stability, and it is highly unlikely that the dentures will ever come loose. Over time, the titanium metal implants will begin to fuse with the jawbone, helping the dentures become more secure and feel more natural. Most patients who receive fixed dentures claim that they feel exactly the same as their original teeth. With proper care and maintenance, a set of fixed dentures should last a lifetime.

Traditional Dentures

Traditional dentures largely rely on suction and support from the soft tissues to remain secure and steady. Our traditional dentures are built from top-quality materials, making them nearly indistinguishable from natural teeth. Traditional dentures can be taken out of the mouth for easy cleaning and then quickly reinserted for general use. This makes traditional dentures a convenient and simple tooth replacement option for many patients.

If you would like to learn more about dentures and to find out if they are a good option for replacing your missing teeth, please call us at (941) 505-1200 to schedule an appointment

It can be greatly concerning when a tooth becomes lost or damaged. The problem can destroy a beautiful smile, and it can make simple activities like chewing and speaking a major chore. To combat this issue, Siesta Village Dentistry offers dental crowns and bridges that look natural and provide outstanding functionality. After you receive a dental crown or bridgework, you will surely be impressed with your beautifully restored smile.

Our practice provides porcelain crowns and traditional bridges.

Porcelain Crowns

Placed over a damaged tooth or on a dental implant, a crown is a tooth-shaped restoration that provides a person with the appearance and function of a healthy tooth. Most dental crowns function as a "cap" for an existing tooth that has experienced a large amount of damage. In this case, the crown will strengthen and protect the injured tooth so that it can perform needed tasks, such as chewing. However, it is also possible to apply dental crowns on top of implants so that they can effectively replace missing teeth. Crowns may also be placed on natural teeth to support a dental bridge which replaces a missing tooth. At Siesta Village Dentistry, we are proud to feature dental crowns built from porcelain, a material that is highly regarded for its natural appearance and great performance.

There are many applications that dental crowns offer, including:

  • Strengthening damaged teeth
  • Protecting teeth after a root canal
  • Improving tooth function
  • Adjusting tooth appearance
  • Correcting misshapen teeth
  • Supporting dental bridges
  • Strengthening damaged teeth
  • Protecting teeth after a root canal
  • Improving tooth function
  • Adjusting tooth appearance
  • Correcting misshapen teeth
  • Supporting dental bridges

Our dental crowns are all custom-built to provide a natural, pleasing look that blends in with the patient's existing teeth. The first step when applying the crown is to either prepare the existing tooth to receive the crown or to install a dental implant for the crown to be applied. If the crown is being installed on top of an existing tooth, we will shave off a small amount of tooth enamel so that the new crown can fit properly. To ensure that the crown remains secure, a strong dental adhesive will be used during application. Patients who have received dental crowns should make sure to take care of the restoration so that the crown lasts for many years to follow.

Traditional Bridges

Siesta Village Dentistry offers custom-built bridges that provide natural-looking replacement teeth for patients who have lost one or more original teeth. After a bridge has been applied, it will offer both the function and appearance of strong, healthy teeth, and it will fill in the gap that was present before. Our traditional bridges work by using dental crowns that are applied over the adjacent teeth and which will hold the bridge steady. The middle of the bridge will be one or more replacement teeth that will occupy the sites of the missing teeth.

Suffering from a lost or damaged tooth is never easy, but the dedicated team at Siesta Village Dentistry can help you get through the experience with a top-quality restoration. Teeth Whitening

One of the best ways to brighten dulled or yellowed teeth is a professional teeth whitening treatments. This specialized process consists of applying a hydrogen peroxide gel directly to the teeth. This gel will release oxygen ions that will enter the enamel and the dentin of teeth to safely break down any staining that exists on the inside. By doing this, the outside of the teeth will appear noticeably whiter. Just one treatment can provide tremendous results and greatly improve the look of a person's smile.

Veneers

Veneers are highly effective in adjusting the size, shape and contour of teeth. They consist of thin, custom-designed shells that are applied to the front surface of teeth and secured with a dental adhesive. Once they have been installed, they will significantly improve the look of teeth, helping them appear more even, straighter or less worn down, all while providing a natural appearance. They are also easy to apply, making them one of the quickest ways to improve the look of teeth.
